*Más de 19 mil 600 apoyos con unidades de componentes sanguíneos a pacientes en la entidad
Hermosillo, Sonora, septiembre 12 de 2019.- Gracias a las acciones de promoción, al igual que a las intensas medidas de vigilancia que se aplican en todos los hospitales de la Secretaría de Salud, Sonora es líder nacional en donación voluntaria de sangre.
Edgar Velásquez Vega, director del Centro Estatal para la Transfusión Sanguínea (CETS), resaltó que Sonora ha sido reconocido en materia de donación voluntaria de sangre en el país, lo que le ha valido participar por tres años consecutivos en el Congreso Internacional sobre esta materia.
Puntualizó que, de septiembre de 2015 a la fecha, se han realizado más de 19 mil 600 apoyos con unidades de sangre como suero y plaquetas, a pacientes hospitalizados que lo han requerido debido a que tendrán una intervención quirúrgica o por padecer alguna enfermedad como leucemia, cáncer e insuficiencia renal.
También han apoyado con unidades sanguíneas a 178 pacientes de cirugías complejas, apuntó, tales como las cardiovasculares o de corazón, trasplantes de riñón, trasplantes de hígado, trasplantes de córnea, así como la colocación de prótesis de mama.
“La Secretaría de Salud ha intensificado las actividades de promoción de la donación voluntaria de sangre, ya que en el 2015 únicamente se tenían 589 unidades captadas y se ocupaba el lugar 26 a nivel nacional, en el 2016 se activó un programa estatal en 12 ciudades con el que se triplica este número a mil 343”, enfatizó.
En el 2017, indicó el funcionario estatal, se sube de nuevo la cifra de unidades voluntarias a mil 626; el 2018 obtienen mil 755 unidades, con lo Sonora que pasó al lugar número 14 a nivel nacional, así mismo, el Centro Estatal de la Transfusión Sanguínea se encontraba en el lugar 14 y pasó al cuarto.
En lo que va de 2019, añadió, la dependencia estatal ha intensificado el número de campañas de donación voluntaria de sangre y hasta agosto de este año se han realizado 86 en universidades y empresas, con una captura de más de mil 100 unidades voluntarias.
“Con esto se han optimizado las reservas en cada una de las unidades hospitalarias y se puede establecer que nadie se ha complicado o fallecido por la falta de un componente de sangre, sino al contrario, se ha fortalecido cada uno de los propios sistemas de los centros de colecta, tanto de la Secretaría de Salud y las demás instituciones públicas y privadas”, enfatizó.
Actualmente, informó, la Secretaría de Salud tiene un sistema de vigilancia en la entidad, que garantiza que todos los bancos de sangre de la dependencia tengan componentes sanguíneos suficientes, con lo que también se apoya a las demás instituciones públicas y privadas como el IMSS, Issste, Isssteson, Sedena y Semar.
El 20 de abril de 2018, refirió Velásquez Vega, Sonora activó la primera plataforma de donación voluntaria de sangre, a la cual la población puede acceder para aclarar los mitos y tabús acerca de la donación de sangre, consultar dónde pueden acudir a donar y agendar citas para realizarlo en cualquier centro para ello.
“Desde 2016 inició con el Modelo Educativo en Donación Voluntaria de Sangre, donde a través de la Secretaría de Educación y Cultura (SEC), la Secretaría de Salud Pública realiza una educación desde el nivel Básico, Media Superior y Superior, activando a partir de este 2019 a todo el estado”, mencionó.
El Modelo Educativo en Donación Voluntaria será adaptado a otras entidades, como: Coahuila, Baja California Sur, Durango y Guerrero, precisó, además, la plataforma de donación voluntaria de sangre será lanzada como modelo para los demás estados, a través del Centro Nacional de la Transfusión Sanguínea.
Por último, el funcionario estatal recordó que desde septiembre de 2015 reaperturaron los centros para donar sangre en las ciudades de Guaymas y Magdalena de Kino, mientras que, en octubre de ese mismo año en la ciudad de Cananea, lo cual beneficia a más de 89 mil habitantes.
